Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) has named Scott Fisher as the new Executive Director, and Arts Consulting Group (ACG) extends its congratulations on his leadership appointment. He began his tenure on August 25, 2025.
Bryn Mawr Film Institute is a nonprofit, member-supported motion picture theater and film education center located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. BMFI is dedicated to promoting shared experiences that entertain, engage, and educate audiences through a diverse range of independent-minded films, a full curriculum of courses, and an extensive program of special events. BMFI was established in 2005 and has since become one of the nation’s largest and most successful art house theaters. In 2025, BMFI was awarded the honor of Best Movie Theater in Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly list and the Main Line Media News’ Reader’s Choice Award.
Scott Fisher joined BMFI’s board of directors in 2023. He is a lifelong moviegoer and has been an enthusiastic advocate for Bryn Mawr’s nonprofit film center since its inception. Fisher brings to BMFI insights and experiences gained from living in our community for over two decades, managing teams large and small, and serving on boards of cultural institutions in the eastern United States.
Organizations ranging from national banking and consulting firms to civic-minded nonprofits have flourished under Fisher’s passionate leadership and long-term planning. Earlier this year, Fisher spearheaded a friends-and-family screening of Audrey’s Children at BMFI for the Ronald McDonald House, another local nonprofit that has benefited from Fisher’s dedication. In addition to being a champion of the arts, Scott is an avid painter and sculptor.
