San Bernardino County Museum Association Appoints Zachary D. Tucker as Executive Director

San Bernardino County Museum Association (SBCMA), the nonprofit organization established to support the San Bernardino County Museum (Museum), has selected Zachary D. Tucker as Executive Director, following an executive search process led by Arts Consulting Group (ACG). He began his tenure on May 11, 2020.

Mr. Tucker has nearly 30 years of nonprofit experience, fostering a respected career in advocacy, marketing, community engagement, and fundraising. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Riverside University Health System, where he represented the health system with federal, state, and local officials in community events and advocacy efforts. He also created a health system legislative platform within the County of Riverside’s legislative platform. As Executive Director of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Foundation, he developed and implemented an organization-wide restructuring that focused on improving policies, procedures, and fiscal accountability and created and led community engagement plan initiatives. For 13 years, Mr. Tucker served as Executive Director of Development and later President at Redlands Community Hospital Foundation. In these roles, he increased total net assets by 200 percent, implemented a new grant seeking program that yielded $3.7 million in support, increased donor participation in the annual fund by 80 percent, and led collaborative community outreach programs.

A Certified Fund Raising Executive and a graduate of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership Regional Leadership Academy, Mr. Tucker has served on the boards of various California organizations and associations, including Redlands Symphony Orchestra Association, Redlands Educational Partnership, Plymouth Village Community Advisory Board, Inland Empire Planned Giving Roundtable, and California State University, San Bernardino Alumni Association. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history with a concentration in Asia and Europe from California State University, San Bernardino. He also earned a master of professional studies degree in communication with a concentration in marketing and public relations from the University of Denver.

In making the announcement, SBCMA Board President Abby Flores said, “We are thrilled to have Zack join our team. His extensive background in nonprofit management and fundraising will be critical to SBCMA’s ability to support the Museum and its vision for the future.” Museum Director Melissa Russo stated, “Zachary Tucker is the ideal partner to lead the SBCMA board’s fundraising efforts, which are so necessary to maintain the Museum’s status as a highly regarded, accredited institution. Our strategic plan to enhance visitor engagement, awareness, accessibility, and collections management is well underway and Zack’s appointment is welcome news.”
