Spruce Peak Arts has selected Seth Soloway as Executive Director, following an executive search process led by Arts Consulting Group (ACG). He began his tenure on September 1, 2023.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to be entrusted with the role of Executive Director of Spruce Peak Arts,” said Soloway. “…SPA is uniquely situated to lead the charge because of the unwavering support of our vibrant Stowe community. Together we can unite the patchwork of our diverse community and truly turn SPA into Stowe’s arts home, its community living room…I look forward to joining your beautiful community, sharing my vision, and together with the staff and board providing access to the finest art and artists in the world. My deep and sincere thanks to the SPA Board, Staff, and Arts Consulting Group. I will work tirelessly every day to substantiate your trust and confidence.”

Seth Soloway, with a wealth of experience in performing arts management, has made significant contributions to the field. He recently served as Associate Dean for Presenting and External Relations at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, where he established a Performing Arts Center team and oversaw substantial venue renovations. Prior to that, as Director of the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, he achieved milestones such as the PAC's 40th-anniversary celebration, the naming and renovation of the PepsiCo Theater, and being recognized as Westchester County's top Cultural Organization in 2018. Seth's journey also includes roles as Artistic Director for Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, an Associate to Broadway Producer Marc Routh, and Director of Booking for Off-Broadway Booking.

In making the announcement, SPA Board President Dianne Matukaitis Brown said, “Seth Soloway’s selection represents an exciting investment in the future of Spruce Peak Arts. It is the culmination of a thorough and highly competitive search process involving multiple stakeholders from the organization and the Stowe community. Seth’s industry expertise, deep knowledge, and successful stewardship of numerous arts organizations made him the top choice for the role. On behalf of the Board, I am thrilled to welcome Seth and his family and to begin a new chapter for the organization under his leadership. I would like to thank the SPA Staff and Board, Arts Consulting Group, and members of the Search Committee. I hope that everyone in the community will get a chance to attend a performance and meet Seth in the coming months, as we work towards building a nationally recognized performing arts center here in Stowe, VT.”

During his master of fine arts studies at Brooklyn College, he shaped his mission to increase access to the live arts, leading to his involvement in resurrecting the West Shore Train Station into the successful Railroad Playhouse, where he served as Artistic Director. His extensive directing experience includes notable productions such as "Mr. Bengt's Wife" and "Antigone" for the Vanderbilt Theatre Department. Seth graduated Marymount Manhattan College with a bachelor of fine arts in theatre arts with a concentration in stage directing. Seth completed his master of fine arts in theatre arts/performing arts management from Brooklyn College in 2006.

“We extend our congratulations to Spruce Peak Arts on welcoming their new Executive Director and extend a deep appreciation to the dedicated members of the search committee, board, and staff,” said ACG Vice President Renée Danger-James. “Seth is a tenacious, visionary leader whose deep passion for the performing arts and community building will undoubtedly contribute to Spruce Peak Art’s success.”
