Wichita Symphony Orchestra Appoints Timothy P. Storhoff as Executive Director

Wichita Symphony Orchestra has selected Timothy P. Storhoff, PhD, as Executive Director, and Arts Consulting Group (ACG) extends its congratulations on his leadership appointment. He will begin his tenure on August 31, 2024.

The Wichita Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1944 and is one of the oldest and most active arts organizations in Kansas. Throughout its 79 years of existence, the orchestra’s mission has been to provide the state with the highest quality musical presentations for as many different audiences as possible.

Timothy Storhoff joins the Wichita Symphony Orchestra following his tenure with the Winston-Salem Symphony. He brings an extensive background in arts administration and a fervent dedication to community engagement and accessibility. His arrival marks a significant shift as the WSO prepares to deepen its connections with Wichita’s diverse and vibrant community while expanding its reach beyond traditional boundaries

Previously, Timothy served in multiple roles at the Winston-Salon Symphony including Vice President, Chief Revenue & Patron Relations Officer, Director of Philanthropic Services, and Manager of Philanthropy and Patron Engagement. Before this, he also served as the Head of Grants Management & Grants Outreach Coordinator, for the Florida Department of State, Office of Legislative Affairs. He earned his Ph.D. in Musicology and Master’s of Music in Ethnomusicology from Florida State University, and undergraduate studies in Bassoon Performance and American Studies at the University of Iowa. His academic and professional journey reflects a lifelong passion for music and its role in shaping and reflecting cultural identities.
