ZACH Theatre Names Jamie Herlich Mclalwain as Managing Director

Jamie Herlich Mclalwain Managing Director ZACH Theatre The ZACH Theatre has selected Jamie Herlich McIalwain as Managing Director, following an executive search process led by Arts Consulting Group (ACG). She will begin her tenure on September 12, 2022.

Jamie Herlich McIalwain brings close to 20 years of experience in organizational leadership, fundraising, and strategic relationship building. Most recently, she served as Chief Advancement Officer at Seattle Rep. During her time at the theater, Jamie Herlich McIalwain developed and successfully executed a five-year strategic plan to maximize organizational impact and sustain steady budget growth. She produced the theater’s record-breaking $1 million gala, nearly tripling the prior gala revenues. Jamie Herlich McIalwain was actively involved in Seattle Rep’s equity, diversity, and accessibility initiatives, ensuring that inclusive community-centered practices are embraced in all aspects of the organization, including board recruitment and the contributed revenue planning process.

Jamie Herlich McIalwain has held roles as Director of Advancement and Development Director with Edmonds Center for the Arts, helping the organization achieve a 272% increase in contributed revenue. She also served as Co-Founder and Managing Director at New Century Theatre Company, and fulfilled a position as Adjunct Professor, MFA for Arts Leadership at Seattle University. Jamie Herlich McIalwain is currently a board member for Theatre Communication Group and Development Committee Member for Leadership Tomorrow. She holds a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance with a minor in theatre arts from Western Washington University as well as a master of fine arts degree in arts leadership from Seattle University.

In making the announcement, Producing Artistic Director Dave Steakley said, “I am thrilled that Jamie was the unanimous choice of our staff and Trustees. She inspires all of us to think expansively about the future, and practically about how to stabilize ZACH after the pandemic shutdown, while empowering our outstanding ZACH team.”
