Atlanta Ballet has selected Juliana Han Witt as Chief Advancement Officer, following an executive search process led by Arts Consulting Group (ACG). She began her tenure on June 26, 2022.
Juliana Han Witt is an accomplished specialist in development with nearly 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Atlanta Ballet, she held senior roles in various renowned cultural institutions including The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Metropolitan Opera, and National Dance Institute. As the Senior Director of Institutional Giving at The Philadelphia Orchestra, Han Witt was responsible for managing an active portfolio of corporate, foundation, and government donors and prospects, raising up to $8 million annually to support the Orchestra’s programs and initiatives. During her tenure as Deputy Director of Institutional Relations and the Broadcast Campaign and as Director of Government and Foundation Relations at The Metropolitan Opera, Han Witt led the institution’s government and foundation fundraising strategies and efforts. She not only raised over $3 million in unrestricted government and foundation monies, as well as more than $4 million in special campaign funds, but also designed and executed a comprehensive solicitation plan that supported the organization’s long-term fundraising goals. At National Dance Institute, Han Witt helped to generate nearly one-third of the operating budget through institutional giving initiatives and successfully directed research on new funders.
Throughout her prolific career, Han Witt also held positions at the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Little Orchestra Society, The Juilliard School, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. In addition to her many impressive achievements in development, she has also served as an educator, musician, and composer. Han Witt holds a bachelor of arts degree in music from Smith College.
