BOSTON — Arts Consulting Group (ACG), the leading provider of hands-on management consulting services to the arts and culture industry, today announced that Kim Davis has joined the firm as Vice President. Based in Chicago, Davis brings more than 25 years of experience in arts and culture education, management, and leadership in nonprofit organizations and municipal agencies.
Prior to joining ACG’s Leadership Transitions team, Davis served as the Senior Director of Education at Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, the largest community arts school in the United States. During her time there, she led equity, diversity, inclusion, and access initiatives, including designing and developing its first Equity Advisory Group and the board’s Education & Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Access Committee.
With an extensive background in arts education and performance, Davis has given lectures and presentations, and she has facilitated discussions at conferences, municipal convenings, and universities. Additionally, she has participated in the New England for the Arts’ National Dance Project - 2016 Regional Dance Development Initiative’s Presenter Showcase. Davis is a board member and Art of Rehearsal Coach for Links Hall, which is committed to fostering career growth, mentoring, and presenting Chicago BIPOC artists.
Davis holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Columbia College of Missouri and a master of science degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She also completed post-graduate studies in management from The Pennsylvania State University and training in caucus facilitation through Chicago Regional Organizing for Antiracism. She is currently earning a doctor of education degree in leadership and innovation from Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
In making the announcement, ACG Senior Vice President Wyona Lynch-McWhite said, “We are thrilled to welcome Kimberly Davis to the ACG team and look forward to her contributions as an arts and culture nonprofit and education expert. Her dedication to the arts and well-honed skills in equity, diversity, inclusion, and access will be invaluable as she works with our clients.”
“I'm thrilled to join the talented team at ACG after marveling at their work from afar,” said Davis. “I am looking forward to connecting with arts professionals across North America, offering my more than 25 years of performance, administration, and project management experience to assist organizations in their strategic growth and innovation.”
