BOSTON — Arts Consulting Group (ACG), the leading provider of hands-on management consulting services to the arts and culture industry, today announced that Flora Stamatiades has joined the firm as Associate Vice President to expand the Leadership Transitions practice area. Based in ACG’s New York location, she brings more than 30 years of expertise in consensus building, strategic planning, organizational changes, and business negotiations.
A liaison between management and employees, and devoted to bringing people together, Stamatiades served with various renowned organizations. Prior to joining ACG, Stamatiades held the position of Leadership Team and Director, National Field Organizing, at Broadway for Biden. During her tenure, Stamatiades curated and led the Field Team activities, including building alliances, streaming shows, conducting fundraising initiatives, and facilitating issue-based panel discussions for the purpose of organizing entertainment professionals in support of the Biden-Harris campaign.
Stamatiades previously spent nearly 24 years at Actors’ Equity Association. For 16 years in her post as National Director, Organizing and Special Projects, she was responsible for collective bargaining and contract oversight processes, improving employment conditions for many theatre professionals. Among her achievements, she developed numerous contracts focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion, led strategic negotiations, and effectively facilitated communication between multiple parties. An experienced labor policy strategist, Stamatiades has also fulfilled roles as a consultant in labor relations with various producers, including Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Stamatiades has done extensive work in education, serving as a guest lecturer in numerous academic institutions, including Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Yale University. She has also served on grants panels for the Mississippi Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
In making the announcement, ACG Senior Vice President Wyona Lynch-McWhite said, “It is our privilege to have Flora Stamatiades join the ACG team as Associate Vice President. Flora has been deeply involved in many diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to support members of the arts and culture sector, including those connected to COVID compliance. Her vigorous enthusiasm and dedication to building partnerships, as well as her effective communication skills and creative approach to problem solving, will be invaluable as she brings her expertise to ACG clients.”
“I have devoted my career to improving the circumstances of those who work in the arts, and I have come to understand that excellent leadership is essential to that work,” said Stamatiades. “The chance to be part of finding and supporting that leadership as the sector continues its rapid changes that are driven by current events is very exciting. There is no better place to have significant international arts and culture impacts than with ACG.”
Stamatiades earned a bachelor of arts degree in theatre and dance from Amherst College and a master of fine arts degree in theatre management from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University.
